Description of Position & Responsibilities
AA&A is looking to add an equity research analyst to its equity research team. The candidate will contribute to the success of the firm by supporting the research team and the investment committee. The role’s main responsibilities include:
Review quarterly financial statements and summarize highlights in written reports
Build and update financial models
Perform detailed financial analysis on public companies to identify investment opportunities
Make investment recommendations to the investment committee
Respond to ad hoc requests from portfolio managers
The sought-after candidate must have strong analytical skills and problem-solving aptitudes, excellent communication abilities (oral and written), be a good team player and demonstrate a high degree of initiative and autonomy.
Professional Attributes
The candidate must have:
Passion for financial markets and a desire to learn
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance
Minimum of 2 years of experience as an equity analyst
Fully proficient in English and French (oral and written)
Strong presentation skills and a clear communicator
CFA Charterholder or in progress
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel advanced level)
Expertise of fundamental analysis methods (modelling)
Familiarity with Bloomberg and Capital IQ an asset
Accounting designation such as CPA or a CBV (Chartered Business Valuator) certification would be a significant asset
